2004 Hall of Fame

The Mitchell Family & Horses

Nominated by Alabama-Tennessee Borderline Horseman's Association

The ATBHA would like to honor Chae' Ellis and Taylor Mitchell as the Hall of Fame Members in 2004.  Both of these girls have a passion for timed event racing from several years past.  Chae's horse (Coal Miners Sugar "Sassy") and Taylor's horse (Taylor's Flash) were taking an evening off in the summer of 2003 to graze in the pasture.  Unnoticed to the family, they found a way out and made there way onto the nearby train tracks.  Dark clouds covered the family that night with the loss of their beloved family members.

Chae's AOHA accomplishments were the 2001 Arena Race (12 & Under) Champion.  In 2002 she placed 9th in the Arena Race.

This honor is to let them and their family know how much they are appreciated.  Their Mom (Sissy) is currently the president of the Alabama Tennessee Borderline Horseman's Association.  Their family's hard work and dedication is the foundation that holds our association and surrounding saddle clubs together.

As the clouds disappeared and the sun began to shine, the memories were placed close to our hearts, but not forgotten.
